Human Trafficking is a Crime

Is this happening to you or someone you know? * Guarded at all times and cannot go out on your own * Forced to have unprotected or dangerous sex with strangers * Treatened, beaten, raped or punished * Not paid for work you did * Someone else is safeguarding your passport and documents * Forbidden to speak to other people or make friends * Told you have to work until your debt is paid, and your debt keeps getting bigger * Unable to get medical services or help if needed * Family back home threatened with violence or hurt

What We Do

NEXT HT Collaborative meeting is Jan. 3, 2013 at 8:30 a.m at United Methodist Church, 490 S. Melrose Dr., Vista, CA (downstairs). Soroptimist International seeks to raise awareness and educate the global and local communities about the horrible crimes of human trafficking. We carry out this mission in many ways. We facilitate quarterly meetings inviting all interested individuals and representatives of local organizations such as Vista Community Clinic, Center for Community Solutions (Escondido), Vista Unified School District, Victim Advocates from the DA's office, Faith-Based Outreach Coordinators, and MANY more.
